  6. Hello All:

  8. I just got my Phase 5 PPC Power Up board installed in my A3000.  It is the
  9. 200 MHz 604e and they transferred my 50 MHz 68060 and 64 Mb of RAM from
  10. my Cyberstorm Mk II.  I have Imagine 5.0 installed on my system.

  12. Imagine worked on the Mk II without any problems, with a 10X or so increase
  13. in speed over my 030.  However, Imagine will NOT run with my PPC board
  14. installed.
  15. When I execute Imagine, I get the following message:

  17.         Program Failed
  18.         (error #8000000B)
  19.         Wait for disk activity to finish.
  20.         Suspend                 Reboot
  21.  
  22. I also get this message when I try to run Real 3D, Forge, and Vista.  However,
  23. I do NOT have a problem with the demo of Cinema 4D, Scala, AmigaVision, The
  24. Art Department, and other programs.  I have different problems with ImageFX
  25. and Movieshop (both have missing library errors that show up).

  27. I thought that the executable of Imagine might have been corrupted during the
  28. installation, because I had a UW SCSI drive installed as well as the PPC
  29. board.  I reinstalled IM 50 from the disks last night (why does it not
  30. put an ICON in the Workbench Drawer, by the way?).  I get the same error.

  32. 1)      Does anyone know what error 8000000B means?  I get the SAME error for
  33.         Real 3D, Forge, and Vista).

  35. 2)      Has anyone else seen this and have an answer?

  37. Thanks for any help.  Imagine is the program I use the most, and I bought
  38. the PPC board SPECIFICALLY in anticipation of the PPC-optimized Imagine 6.0.

  46. Thats an emulator error, which is the fpu. install executive from
  47. aminet and it will tell you exactly whats wrong.

  55. IIRC it is a memory error.  You might want to install (gasp!) MCP and set it
  56. to capture GURUs.  The guru data file lists the GURU and what causes it if
  57. possible.  And usually prevents a system shut down from bad apps.  Also you
  58. can try running Enforcer before running Imagine to see if it catches anything.

  70. a) It could be that the Phase5 dummy 68040.library and new 68060.library
  71. were not installed as described in the notes. Try typing CPU060 in a shell
  72. window and see if the 060 is being detected.
  73. b) Make sure you dont have any replacement math#? libraries installed -
  74. The Phase5 documentation states that the original math#? libraries from
  75. your OS disks must be installed in libs:
  76. c) It could be a problem with files becoming corrupted while they are
  77. being written to your UW SCSI drive -
  78. Since you have some spare RAM capacity, Use the install disks to install
  79. Vista or Imagine directly to the RAM disk, and see if they work from there.
  80. d) Try running Cyberguard.
  81. e) Double check that the 'Happy new year' virus is not lurking on your
  82. system.

  90. The installer doesn't work very well. Take the System Disk of Phase5
  91. and copy 68060.library and 68040.library in your libs.
  92. Without to forget to put PPC.library and PPCdiss.library
  93.  
  94. After all is operational ! you go on the site Phase5 and
  95. you get back the news Updates. :-)
